HAILEE STEINFELD TO RECEIVE “CINEMACON® FEMALE STAR OF TOMORROW AWARD”
SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT TO RELEASE “ENDER’S GAME” ON NOVEMBER 1, 2013
WASHINGTON D.C. (March 20, 2013) – Hailee Steinfeld will receive the “CinemaCon® Female Star of Tomorrow Award” at this year’s CinemaCon, it was announced today by the convention’s Managing Director Mitch Neuhauser. CinemaCon, the largest and most important convention for the motion picture theatre industry, will be held from April 15-18, 2013 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas at which time more than 5,000 industry members will be gathering. Steinfeld will be presented with this special honor at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” ceremony to take place on Thursday evening, April 18, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon, will host the final night gala awards program.
“Having already garnered an Oscar® nomination, not to mention international acclaim for her big screen debut in ‘True Grit,’ Hailee Steinfeld will continue to show audiences this coming year just how amazing a young actress she is with five new films set to hit theaters," noted Neuhauser. "Can you imagine working opposite Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin in your very first film and under the direction of Joel and Ethan Coen no less? We cannot think of a more exemplary young actress to be named this year's 'CinemaCon Female Star of Tomorrow.'"
Steinfeld can be seen later this year in “Ender’s Game,” which is set to be released by Summit Entertainment, a LIONSGATE® company, on November 1, 2013. The epic adventure is based on the best-selling, award-winning novel and also stars Asa Butterfield, Ben Kingsley and Viola Davis with Abigail Breslin and Harrison Ford. Steinfeld will also star later this year opposite Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo and Catherine Keener in “Can A Song Save Your Life?”; in “Hateship, Friendship” opposite Guy Pearce, Kristen Wiig and Nick Nolte; in “Three Days to Kill” opposite Kevin Costner; as well as in the new cinematic adaption of Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet,” opposite Douglas Booth, Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti.
Steinfeld garnered her first critical acclaim when she starred opposite Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin in the Coen Brother’s remake of “True Grit.” Her performance as Mattie Ross garnered her Oscar®, Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA Award nominations as well as universal acclaim with dozens of film critic award wins. She was also seen as the new face of Miuccia Prada’s Miu Miu campaign shot by Bruce Weber in Fall 2011.
