DIMENSION FILMS ACQUIRES THE GREYS

New York, NY, April 28, 2011 - Dimension Films has preemptively purchased the spec script THE GREYS from writer Adam Cohen and from producing partners Sean and Bryan Furst.  F. Javier Gutierrez (TRES DIAS aka BEFORE THE FALL) is set to direct the film.  The announcement was made today by Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company (TWC).  The logline of the sci-fi thriller is currently being kept under wraps.

“We are thrilled to be collaborating on this exciting script with Adam Cohen, Radar Pictures and The Fursts,” said Bob Weinstein.  “As a fan, I have wanted to work with F. Javier Gutierrez for some time and am happy to join forces on his English language directorial debut.”

Sean and Bryan Furst are producing in partnership with Radar Pictures’ Ted Field and Mike Weber.  Overseeing for Dimension Films are SVP of Production, Matthew Stein and VP of Production and Creative Affairs, Matthew Signer.

"We're energized by the incredible level of passion Bob Weinstein and Dimension have shown for Adam Cohen's thrilling script and for the talented F. Javier Gutierrez, and we all feel it’s that kind of passion that makes for an ideal filmmaking partner," said the producers.

The deal was negotiated for Dimension Films by Andrew Kramer, President of Business and Legal Affairs, Adrian Lopez, Director of Business and Legal and Matthew Stein; and for Radar Pictures by David Boyle.   Cohen and Gutierrez are represented by Scott Henderson at Paradigm.  Cohen is also represented by managers Stephen Gates and Evan Corday at Evolution Entertainment and Gutierrez by manager Dan Farah.  This is the fifth project for TWC with the Furst brothers since its opening, beginning with THE MATADOR.    In addition, Radar and Dimension Films previously collaborated on THE AMITYVILLE HORROR.
