CHARITIES AND RACING STRIPES STAR ATTEND RED CARPET PREMIERE EVENT AT THE PALMS

The morning after the gala festivities for the World Premiere of Jennifer Garner’s new action flick Elektra, The Palms Hotel and Casino and Brenden Theatres hosted another Red Carpet Premiere event with special invited guests, Shade Tree and Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer of Southern Nevada charities.  Press, guests and fans arrived a little after 9 AM for a chance to meet and greet actress Hayden Panettiere, the star of RACING STRIPES, the delightful family friendly film about a zebra who thinks he is a racehorse.

The pretty blonde actress granted the public and press numerous photo opportunities both on and off the red carpet, in and out of the screening. Walking down the red carpet Hayden stopped at intervals to chat with fans and pose for photos, then entered the movie theatre and sat with her parents and younger brother Jensen, who lent his voice to the young version of the zebra.

After the film ended and the lights went on, Hayden, along with Racing Stripes producer, Broderick Johnson stayed for a question and answer session for the audience. Most of the questions addressed what it was like working with the animals and Hayden was happy and informative in describing her experience.  Especially impressive was her mature, patient, and caring manner with a young wheelchair bound fan who had trouble expressing himself. Older stars could learn a thing or two from this young up and comer! Hayden was also pleasantly surprised when presented with a special Zebra Stripes Cake from Cold Stone Creamery, the same company that invited attendees to partake in the Ice Cream Social immediately following the movie.

Besides the complimentary ice cream given out at the “after screening social”, Balloons with a Twist provided free face painting and balloons, and Racing Stripes autographed posters and other movie items were available for the children. Hayden stayed for this event and was graciously available for some more photo and autograph opportunities.

It was great to see the blending of worthwhile charities with an appearance of a movie star at a film premiere that the whole family can enjoy. For Racing Stripes, this is a win win situation. How fitting!
